The creation of Thai silk is an ancient process using fibres from
bona fide silkworm caterpillars. Thai women spin silk threads by
hand, then weave the threads on traditional hand-operated looms.
Each piece of fabric is a unique work of textile art, reflecting
the character and spirit of its weaver. Unlike silk produced by
machines, Thai silk has a knotty texture and a rich lustre. Its
tiny imperfections are the heart of its beauty.
The products on this website
are recently hand sewn from Thai silk woven in the 1960’s-70’s,
reflecting the bright colors and whimsical designs of that era.
